About the Role:

The Rewinder plays a critical role in the manufacturing and production process by ensuring that rolls of material, such as paper, film, or foil, are rewound accurately and efficiently to meet quality standards. This position requires meticulous attention to detail to monitor the tension, alignment, and quality of the material as it is rewound onto cores or spools. The Rewinder is responsible for operating and maintaining rewinding machinery, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and performing routine inspections to prevent defects. By maintaining consistent product quality and minimizing waste, the Rewinder directly contributes to the overall productivity and profitability of the production line. This role demands a proactive approach to safety and quality control, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations throughout the rewinding process.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience operating rewinding or similar machinery in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret production specifications and quality standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with automated or computerized rewinding equipment.
  • Familiarity with quality control processes and inspection techniques.
  • Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including nights or weekends if required.
  • Certification in industrial safety or equipment operation.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate rewinding machines to rewind materials such as paper, film, or foil onto cores or spools according to production specifications.
  • Monitor machine settings, tension, and alignment to ensure consistent product quality and prevent defects or material damage.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of rewinding equipment to ensure optimal performance and reduce downtime.
  • Inspect rewound rolls for quality assurance, including checking for wrinkles, tears, or uneven winding, and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues promptly and coordinate with maintenance teams for repairs to minimize production interruptions.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including quantities produced, machine settings, and any quality issues encountered.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.

Skills:

The Rewinder uses mechanical skills daily to operate and adjust rewinding machinery, ensuring materials are wound correctly and meet quality standards. Attention to detail is essential for inspecting rolls and identifying defects early in the process to prevent waste. Communication skills are important for coordinating with maintenance teams and reporting production data accurately.
