POSITION SUMMARY:

Assist with the preparation and batching of retort products following the batch cards per customer specifications, while maintaining product quality and following regulatory and company guidelines for sanitation and safety.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:


  • Accurately fill out the batch cards including documenting the LPNs and lot numbers;
  • Verify the proper temperature and volume of each batch;
  • Use the HMI to enter set points along with manipulating valves and pumps when needed;
  • Assist in running the Retort kitchen when covering the Process Operator II lunches and breaks along with keeping up with their responsibilities, including verifying levels and using the controls to transfer and batch finished kettles;
  • Participate in CIP activates, helping with pipe swings, cleaning and sanitizing while the circuit is running

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred;
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (bump cap, hair net, ear plugs, beard net (if applicable), Kevlar gloves, safety glasses and leather, skid resistant work shoes/boots;
  • Ability to apply basic computer and communication skills, math functions and reasoning;
  • Ability to use various hand tools (knife, water house, band cutters, can opener, scales, Telnet scanners, various small hand tools as required for position/product testing);
  • Lock out/tag out certified;


WORKING CONDITIONS: (List Environment/Noise/Lifting/PPE)


  • Constant exposure to extreme loud noises.
  • Constant standing and moving by foot.
  • Constant exposure to extreme hot/cold (non-weather) environment.
  • Constant work near moving mechanical parts/conveyors.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying <50 pounds, reaching and use of fingers.
  • Frequent reaching/pulling/bending/climbing stairs/stooping/kneeling.
  • Occasionally lifting >50 pounds.
  • Potential exposure to caustic chemicals.
