POSITION DESCRIPTION

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Compensation: Hourly Rate of $25.00 - $30.00 DOE

SUMMARY

The Research and Development Technician is an important member of our Special Projects team. By helping with the writing and maintaining of our PLC and other programming requirements, as well as drafting detailed drawing, you will help keep our bakery operational.

This position will require excellent self-motivation and organizational skills to learn and maintain programs. Basic knowledge of IT systems will be helpful, to keep our systems operational and updated.

The R+D Technician will report directly to the Special Projects Manager who will assign appropriate long-term goals and objectives. The R+D Technician will be involved in daily tasks, goals, and project planning.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, build, trouble shoot and maintain PLC Programs
  • Design and assist Robotic systems and motion control logic
  • Diverse in the Omrons ACE and Sysmac Studio software
  • Control IT function of Visual basic software (Wonderware, etc.)
  • Assist with general electrical task on projects (no hot work)
  • Consultant/Assist with IT, trouble shoot daily issues, as needed
  • Collaborate with team on Designs and Drawings (for fabrication shop programming purposes)
  • Cataloging of project and/or equipment drawings, which uses a three step system, to maintain revision levels
  • Help with new hardware and software installations on projects
  • Communicate with other team members and assist with training team members as needed

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Data collection to be used for continuous improvement and decision making
  • Maintain accurate inventory and organization of parts related to projects
  • Support all departments with all technical related needs
  • Perform root cause analysis to eliminate or reduce future mechanical failures
  • Clear and precise communication with the technical team
  • Responsible for identifying, reporting and eliminating equipment problems
  • To be a positive motivator for the maintenance team to drive performance and teamwork
  • Obtain a flexible schedule to support technicians and involved on all shifts when needed.
  • Enforces compliance with administrative policies and procedures.
  • Assists in capital improvement plans, budget development, and staffing projections.
  • Ensures performance policy is enforced in a fair and consistent manner and proper records are maintained.


ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree in Industrial Technology Application, OR Two (2) years experience in this field of work with valid credentials and references

Exceptional Organizational, Prioritization, and Time Management skills

Computer Skills and Hand Tools Experience

Ability to work well under pressure and meet project deadlines

Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail

Highly motivated individual and proactive team member

Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Ability to work flexible hours or schedule as needed (scheduled shift will be between 7:00 a.m to 3:00 p.m.)

Will be responsible for additional duties and/or responsibilities that may be designated by the manager

Food manufacturing experience and/or knowledge preferred
