YOUR OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting Biogas Technician opportunity. The Biogas Technician will be required to work in a team environment to accomplish the operations and maintenance objectives identified by Seaboard Foods RNG Management. They are responsible for the safe and proper operation, maintenance, and repairs of the Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) facilities mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor/Operate the RNG facilities from a control room, identify issues, and make necessary changes to ensure steady operations of the facilities
  • Understand and support QSH&E goals and objectives, and on-going improvement plans and activities.
  • Perform work orders and ensure all maintenance work is done in accordance with established safety rules.
  • Perform calibrations and repair of PH sensors, Pressure, Temperature and Flow transmitters
  • Ensure proper record keeping of calibrations in equipment data files.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on fresh water and effluent systems, air systems, heat exchangers, and pumps
  • Maintain compressors, motors, pumps, and valves associated with operations.
  • Must be able to diagnose and repair electrical power and control systems.
  • Use tools ranging from common hand tools and power tools to precision measuring instruments and electronic testing devices
  • Must be on a rotating on call schedule

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Required:

  • Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret in the English language correspondence, general business reports, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations, or reports.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of customers and visitors.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with acceptable MVR. 

Preferred:

  • Associate's degree or Technical school diploma or related degree program/field preferred.  Biology and/or Chemistry experience preferred.  
  • 1+ years of experience in a chemical or petrochemical environment preferred.
  • Previous experience in the gas compression field preferred.  

 

SCHEDULE

The biogas technician will be on a rotation with other technicians.  They will work 7 days on (Thursday-Wednesday) and then 7 days off.  The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. Occasionally, overtime or changes in schedule will be required as special circumstances arise Position includes an on-call rotation for nights and weekends.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the facility. 
  • The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds

  • Must be able to wear all safety and production-related equipment.
  • Work environment varies from an indoor control room to remote locations which may have extreme hot or cold climate conditions, dependent upon the situation and business needs.
  • Noise level varies depending upon which area of production the employee is working.
