Job Details:
The Team Member is responsible to perform the following tasks that are related to the operation of the Friskies Machine:
1. Setup Friskies Machine:
Connect three 2” diameters metal sanitary pipes around the Machine. 1 pipe is located above shoulder level while 2 pipes are located below shoulder level. The average length of the pipes is between 10-inch to 6-ft. Individual pipe weighs less than 10lbs. Connect flex pipe into an outlet and the tanker inlet. One connecting point is located above shoulder level. The weight of the empty flex pipe is approximately 50 pounds. The Team member must walk down 4 flights of stairs to access the tanker. Twice a shift, the team member is required to climb 4 steps rung ladder to get to Char Liquid hopper platform to pour ink. Starting the system requires turning a ball valve located below the shoulder level and by pressing push buttons on the control box.
2. Monitor Friskies Machine & Metal detector:
The team member conducts intermittent product temperature checks by probing a thermometer into the product discharge accumulation hopper located above shoulder level. The team member is also required to monitor & compare the product temperatures displayed on a chart recorder and an analog thermometer located at shoulder level. The chart recorder is mounted on wall. Occasional inspection of the product is required when the metal detector trips.
3. Separate/rework Condemned parts:
Occasionally the operator separates the condemned parts by reversing the feed conveyor, which is done by turning two ball valves. The condemned parts are captured in a metal barrel. The team member is also required to push the metal barrel weight approximately 100-150 lbs. into rendering.
Physical Demands and Requirements of the Job:
Bending: Minimal forward bending is required to connect the pipes those are located below shoulder level. The operator is required to squat to connect the pipes below the knee level. Combination of shoulder rotation & wrist pronation is required to pour the Char liquid into the hopper. Minimal neck flexion is observed when inspecting part at the Metal detector. Minimal torso forward bending, mid-range arm flexion and shoulder extension is required to unload parts from the metal combo onto the inclined conveyor.
Lifting: During setup, the team member is required to lift, a) pipe weighs less than 10-lbs and b) the flexible pipe weighs about 50 lbs.
Push / Pull: Moderate push/pull is required to connect pipes using both hands. Minimal push/push to open/close ball valves and press push buttons. Heavy push/pull is required when moving wheeled barrels.
Reaching: Outward reaching of up to 18”, below and above shoulder level, is required. Shoulder flexion of 00 to 750 is noted depending on how high the pipe connectors are located.
Grasping: Whole hand grasp is required to hold and connect the pipes. Pinch grip and twisting motion are required to lock two pipes with the quick connectors. Pinch grip is necessary to remove foreign objects form the product.
Standing: Non-slip concrete floor. No prolonged standing is required the duration of the work shift. Occasional climbing on the inspection platform which are made of honeycomb gray fiber grate. Platforms have ample toe and knee clearance.
Force: Low force is required to turn the ball valves, press push buttons, and to connect the pipes. Moderate force is required to turn the knob on the quick connect and lift parts from the combo.
Work Duty: Use of both hands is required to perform this job. The temperature of the work area is seasonal and may range from 600 to 950 Fahrenheit. The team member is required to wear steel toe boots, hard hand, earplugs, and rubber gloves.
This facility runs 6 days a week, Monday - Saturday. Must be willing to work in all areas, based on facility needs.

Requirements: Must have 1 month of experience operating heavy machinery.
