TARGETED OUTCOMES

Ascend is currently seeking a Mechanical Reliability Manager to join their chemical plant in Alvin, TX. The Mechanical Reliability Manager is accountable for developing and ensuring implementation for the ongoing effectiveness of the equipment reliability programs and their performance for this large/complex chemical processing facility. As a key member of the Reliability and Maintenance Team, the Mechanical Reliability Manager will share plant performance accountability with Operations Leadership. The Leader will deliver strategic performance improvements in the reliability and maintenance performance at the Chocolate Bayou, TX facility resulting in robust asset reliability and minimum total cost of maintenance. The Mechanical Reliability Manager will direct the Rotating and Fixed Equipment mechanical asset reliability team specializing in leading the reliability strategic programs, analysis of asset reliability issues, and the development of robust improvement solutions to support the overall site.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership

  • Set Objectives, select personnel, and manage change to drive improvements in asset reliability results
  • Develop strategic vision for asset reliability and a plan for the transition to a predictive environment
  • Provide continuous performance feedback and improvement assistance for group employees to ensure their professional growth
  • Ensure adequate metrics are implemented to ensure timely asset reliability performance is measured and reviewed
  • Develop and maintain a critical asset condition status report identifying predicted future actions to prevent asset failure or significant performance deterioration
  • Ensure improvement projects are adequately chartered and resourced
  • Maintain and review corrective action progress status for all reliability projects to include routine Work Order RCA’s
  • Provide recommended reliability project priorities to functional and plant management

TEAM

  • Reports to: Sr Maintenance and Reliability Manager
  • Direct reports include: Fixed Equipment Engineers and Rotating Equipment Engineers

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree preferred
  • Minimum 7 years industry experience in reliability, maintenance, and/or engineering organizations.
  • Minimum 5 years in Reliability leadership, Chemical, Refining or Petrochemical Industry
  • Experience improving reliability organizations and the performance of the equipment.
