Job Overview:

Position Summary & Scope

The role of Regional Sales Manager – Surface Treatments is a critical member of the sales team. The role is responsible for the ongoing maintenance and development of business at existing customers, with a strong focus on the identification, development, and delivery of new accounts and business within the assigned sales role. We are seeking a dynamic collaborative seller with a passion for new business acquisition (hunting) and strong connection to their customers and colleagues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • The Regional Sales Manager will manage an existing customer base and focus on growing sales in Military and Aerospace markets within the Americas.

  • Promote and sell a complete range of integrated, environmentally-responsible process cleaning solutions (aqueous/solvent), coating and paint removers, and other qualified surface treatments/pretreatments.

  • Prospect and develop new direct accounts and new product sales at new and existing accounts

  • Develop relationships with all levels of the designated key account or OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) account infrastructure.

  • Gain specific knowledge of all aspects of industry developments, market conditions and the customer's business (e.g. business objectives, strategies, product development plan, applications, service expectations).

  • Define and prepare sales proposals and maximize volume and revenue in assigned key accounts by utilizing value added selling methods.

  • Demonstrate a consistent flow of highly qualified new application opportunities.

  • Drive defined business strategies to grow business and markets in sales territory

  • Develop account plans for priority accounts and drive plans to completion, including understanding the customer’s market drivers and tracking opportunities using the CRM tool

  • Harness the power of your Vantage colleagues in the selling situation; coordinate the expertise of Technical Service Specialists, Marketing and Management teams in the selling environment through your sales director

  • Provide updated forecasts from customers to sales director on a consistent cyclical basis

  • Support the sales training needs for this new position

  • Attend applicable trade exhibitions as needed throughout the year.

Education & Experience

Education: Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a technical or business-related field.

Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years of technical and solution/value selling sales experience in an industrial environment is required.

  • Experience working in Aerospace and Defense markets preferred.

  • Experience in Surface Treatment, Anti-Corrosion, or Precision Cleaning industry is preferred.

  • Strong understanding of managing sales projects from start to close.

  • Demonstrated balance of working well independently in the field while engaging and collaborating with colleagues at headquarters

  • Demonstrated success in sales performance with a past track record of meeting / exceeding targets while obtaining strong support for your company's products on both current and developmental business

  • Strong history of identifying and developing new opportunities for products in your area of expertise.

  • Experience negotiating contracts and pricing agreements.

  • Experience preparing and delivering presentations to customer groups and for various levels of company leadership.

  • Experience driving Key Performance Indicators

  • Experience using CRM systems, Outlook and Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.

Working Conditions

  • Remote role; Willing and able to travel 40% - 60% of the time.

Pay and Benefits

The estimated base pay range for this position is: $115,000 - $180,000 annually. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, qualifications, skills and geographic location. This position is eligible to participate in a short-term incentive program.
