SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Regional EHS Manager serves as a resource and subject matter expert on EHS&S for the North American Region and acts as a lead to all plant Environmental Health and Safety resources to ensure that Site Operations are compliant with applicable environmental, health, safety & security (EHSS) regulations, and policies and procedures. This role will be responsible for the creation and implementation of standard Techniplas safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure an environmentally safe & secure workplace that meets or exceeds all Federal, State, Local regulations and standards.

JOB DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Facilitates incident investigations and injury management with the support of local EHS resources according to Techniplas safety program.
  • Monitors and analyze all injuries, incidents and safety observation trends and implement corrective actions designed to improve results.
  • Inspects facilities to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
  • Acts as change agent for process, system improvement, and integration of technology; and developing and administering policies and procedures.
  • Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections.
  • Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings.
  • Ensures Site-Specific Environmental, Health and Safety Plans are up to date and in compliance with applicable laws.
  • Ensures Material Safety Data Sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
  • Assists managers and engineers with JSA Hazard Analyses, coaching and correcting at-risk behaviors & conditions.
  • Manages contractor / visitor safety program and associated documentation.
  • Provides technical guidance regarding health-related problems and correct use of protective clothing, accessories, or equipment.
  • Ensure day-to-day safety work processes are followed (e.g., permits, electrical, wearing correct PPE.)
  • Facilitate required Emergency Action Processes (Severe Weather, Fire, etc.) to ensure Plant readiness in the event of emergencies.
  • Prepares and schedules training with the support of local EHS resources to cover emergency procedures.
  • Completed safety communications / briefings.
  • Conducts or coordinates on-site Industrial Hygiene monitoring when needed (noise dosimetry, air monitoring, CSE monitoring).
  • Maintains all recordkeeping documents to include accident/incident reports, injury logs, OSHA Logs, training records, and all other company and outage recordkeeping requirements.
  • Assists in developing and maintaining site specific plans (e.g., Fall Protection, CSE, LO/TO, etc.)
  • Leads and builds a cross-function Plant Safety Team to help create and maintain a safe workplace.

Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES):

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Safety or related field or an Associate’s degree in related field, with equivalent experience preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years manufacturing / industrial experience required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with clean driving record.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) necessary to communicate effectively and to consistently interact with clients, co-workers, and other contacts in a professional manner.
  • Demonstrates a high level of confidentiality.
  • Must be detail-oriented with knowledge of office procedures and computer skills.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
  • Promotes collaboration and utilizes excellent customer service skills to ensure that employees and company's needs are met, in a professional manner.
  • Must be able to work both independently and within a team.
  • Available to report to work upon "short notice”, work weekends, and/or nights as needed.
