**Job Summary: **

American Art Clay Company (AMACO) was founded in 1919 by Ted O. Philpott. We are looking for someone who can procure, store, and issue supplies in our warehouse operation area, process and maintain inventory records, modify and implement inventory control and disposal procedures, and perform other work-related tasks that are assigned. Responsibilities:

  • Ability to safely maintain and operate pallet jack, propane and/or stand-up electric lift truck; perform safety inspection to specifications prior to the start of each shift; take unsafe and poorly operating equipment out of service, pending repair.
  • According to pick ticket, select designated product in the correct quantity and palletize for customer orders.
  • Create and track audit trail of product placement to trace location; locate product within warehouse and place product in designated areas. Expedite immediate request for service from employees pulling orders.
  • Remove dumpsters to proper areas, replace when necessary; crush and properly store corrugated and plastic recycling.
  • Count, weigh, and record number of materials moved or handled. Select items from stick as specified by orders. Wrap, pack, and arrange for shipment; ability to review production/shipping/receiving documentation for accuracy and take corrective actions when errors are located.
  • Load trucks according to specified loading diagrams and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifts. Read work orders to follow oral instructions to ascertain materials or container to be moved.
  • Maintain constant review of stored material throughout the entire facility; being aware of unsafe stack patterns and making corrections on finding these deficiencies.
  • Ability to accurately perform daily, quarterly or annual cycle counts.

  • Maintains clean and organized facility to include sweeping, trash removal, consolidating pallets etc.
  • Maintain safe work environment including adherence to all safety rules and reporting all accidents, near misses and unsafe conditions to management.
  • Other duties assigned by supervisor.

Yard Hostler Duties:

  • Must be able to operate yard goat/yard mule (semi-tractor) intended to move trailers within warehouse facility.
  • Ability to maneuver Yard Goat truck through parking lots and back safely into dock doors.
  • Must be safety minded and be aware of all safety hazards conditions.
  • Good communication skills, ability to communicate with Supervisors/Team Leads and warehouse personnel.
  • Perform required DOT pre and post trips on yard goat equipment daily.

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Two-Three years work-related experience
  • Ability to communicate in the English language, both written and spoken.
  • Good organization and time management skills
  • Must be able to work in hot environments
  • Average ability to work out mathematical calculations, which require extending numbers by using multiplication, division, addition and subtraction.
  • Ability to lift from floor level to a height of four (4) feet.
  • Must be able to see and to step over obstacles with a height of 6”, and around obstacles of 40’’ x 48’’.
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 100 pounds.
  • Must be able to hear forklift and related equipment.
  • Must be able to stand or sit for long periods.

**Work Environment: **

This job may require you to stand for extended periods of time as well as lifting/heavy lifting is required. Must be able to work in both hot and cold environments

The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50+ pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 40+ hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel:

No travel is expected for this position.

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma, or equivalent is required Higher education is preferred
