Job Overview:

SUMMARY OF DUTIES: To verify accurate receipt of all incoming freight against computer orders, whether product is for outgoing orders or to be used in the warehouse. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES: Additional duties, which are necessary to carry out the function of the Lead Receiving Clerk, may be assigned and are incorporated by reference into this job description. 

  • Responsible for assisting in supervision of all receiving/putaway personnel in order to ensure an accurate and efficient daily receiving and putting away product; 
  • Responsible for daily communication to “Purchasing” group on all exceptions in addition to a current status and description of open or delayed P.O’s; 
  • Responsible for the daily receiving of all Federal Express and UPS deliveries; 
  • Responsible for ensuring all pre-received merchandise are received properly and all outstanding P.O.’s, where product was received are managed and expedited/planned to be received efficiently; 
  • Responsible for the daily communication between Purchasing and Accounts Payable on all issues related to the Receiving Dept.; 
  • Responsible for modifications on receiving documents by the number of products received versus that which was ordered and communicating errors such as UPC errors to Supervisor and/or Inventory Control; 
  • Responsible for accurate receipt of all products and for reporting errors or differences to the proper party; 
  • Reports to work on time, as directed by the Receiving Supervisor, and completes all duties in a timely manner; 
  • Performs above listed duties in a cooperative, capable manner, processing the information effectively and communicating the information as needed effectively; 
  • Responsible for communicating problems, errors, and safety issues to Supervisor;

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position assists the Receiving Supervisor with communication and supervision and direction of receiving/put-away employees; this position does not directly supervise, evaluate, or discipline employees. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands of this job include light physical activity performing light strenuous activities pf an administrative, productive and/or technical nature that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, and use hands to touch, handle or feel. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is required to talk or hear, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and reach with hands or arms. 

The employee must regularly lift up to 10 pounds. The employee must occasionally lift up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job in warehouse environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly work in wet humid conditions in outdoor weather conditions. The employee must occasionally work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level of the work environment is usually moderate.
