POSITION SUMMARY: The Receiving Coordinator ensures timeliness, accuracy and the smooth flow of material coming into the company. They are responsible for physically receiving material into the building and electronically into our ERP system, properly identifying and storing materials, and distributing those materials where needed and as required. Additionally, this role serves a back-up company delivery driver where they are the face of the company to many of our customers.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Inspect incoming materials and notify appropriate staff of potential quality issues;
- Verifies quantities of product received against the packing slip/purchase order;
- Ensuring shipping and receiving area is organized and clean at all times and meets all compliance factors;
- Investigate and resolve customer problems and issues related to shipping & receiving;
- Pull material needed for production as requested by Supervisors Working Group Leaders? via pick lists; Deliver material to work centers to support production schedule;
- Organize, maintain raw material inventory and warehouse storage & finished goods inventory;
- Maintain daily inspections of all receiving equipment as well as a safe receiving area per OSHA requirements;
- Must be able to perform and manage multiple tasks and/or priorities and easily adapt to changing situations;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, work flexible hours as needed, and handle additional tasks as assigned;
- Adhere to Employee’s responsibilities outlined in Cygnus’ Health & Safety Policy.
- Support and assist Shipping Coordinator, as needed.
Additional Skills and Responsibilities:
- Serve as a back-up driver of our 18 foot box truck
- Previous commercial driving experience preferred;
- Must maintain knowledge of RCRA Hazardous Waste Management;
- Ability to maintain a driver logbook per DOT standards;
- Ahere to all Federal and State driving laws
- Ability to read and follow written instructions
Required Experience/Credentials:
- At least 2 years of previous Shipping and Receiving experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred;
- Good communication skills including computer literacy, experience with an ERP system preferred;
- Good decision-making and problem-solving skills with the ability to act proactively;
- Minimum one (1) year experience operating a forklift and successful completion of CMC’s forklift certification required;
- Must be able to pass and receive a DOT medical card certification;
- Frequent lifting or moving of materials up to 75 lbs.;
- Ability to work in a manufacturing shop environment (including hot, cold, and/or noisy areas);
- Frequent hand-to-finger, handle, feel objects & tools, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking, and hearing;
- Physically submit to periodic drug tests (employment is contingent upon favorable results);
- Up to 10 hours of overtime per week, as needed.
