Job Summary
The Storeroom Keeper and Receiver is responsible for the accurate management, organization, and distribution of materials and supplies within the manufacturing plant's storeroom. This role ensures the proper receipt, storage, and issuance of critical spare parts, office supplies, and janitorial supplies, while maintaining a clean and efficient workspace. The position involves collaborating with vendors, internal departments, and maintenance teams to support smooth plant operations, particularly during maintenance shutdowns.
Key Areas of Responsibility
**Inventory Management
**
Maintain an accurate inventory of critical spare parts, office supplies, janitorial supplies, and other materials within designated storage areas.
Conduct timely cycle counts to reconcile physical inventory with system records.
Use computer systems, including SAP, to check in items, make inventory adjustments, and locate PO or vendor information.
Pull requested inventory items and provide them to requestors via the access window.
**Receiving and Inspection
**
Physically count all items in deliveries and verify them against packing slips.
Cross-check incoming orders with SAP Purchase Orders (POs), marking items as received in SAP only when physically present on-site.
Notify appropriate individuals when non-storeroom items are delivered; hand over the items at the access window and record sign-off on the "non-stores received" clipboard.
**Plant and Vendor Coordination
**
Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery and resolve any discrepancies.
Assist with the preparation and coordination of materials and parts required during facility maintenance shutdowns.
**Workplace Organization and Maintenance
**
Operate the storeroom cage access window between the hours of 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, excluding a half hour for lunch.
Maintain a clean, neat, and organized storeroom, including the desk and all storage areas.
Sweep the storeroom weekly and empty trash receptacles as needed.
Manage corrugated bailing and disposal of all waste generated by receiving operations.
Maintain a Clean and Organized Loading Dock Areas in both Buildings 10 and 11. Docks are to be organized, swept and trashed picked on a Weekly Schedule.
Recycled Pallets are to be stored in the designated Area in Building #10. They are to be stacked neatly and organized for loading onto the Recycle Truck.
Truck Entrance into the Storeroom must be always locked except when receiving material. During this period, the door must be closed to deter people from using this entrance into the storeroom.
**Customer Service and Delivery
**
Provide exceptional service by delivering requested materials to various areas of the plant as needed.
Support internal departments by promptly notifying them of available materials and ensuring smooth handoffs.
All requests for components from the storeroom must be made at the window. The storekeeper will get a list of parts from the customer and bring them to the window. The only exception to this rule is for maintenance personnel looking for a particular item.
