Receiver

Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Receiver to join our warehouse team. The Receiver will be responsible for receiving, inspecting, verifying, and accurately recording incoming shipments while safely moving materials throughout the facility.

The ideal candidate will have forklift experience and strong attention to detail. Experience working with chemicals, precious metals, or other high-value materials is a plus, as the position involves accurately counting and maintaining inventory.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Lunch: 30-minute unpaid lunch

Physical Requirement: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Core Responsibilities

  • Receive and Verify Shipments: Unload delivery trucks and compare incoming materials against purchase orders, bills of lading, packing slips, and other documentation to verify quantities and accuracy.

  • Inspect Incoming Materials: Examine shipments for damage, leakage, or other issues. Document discrepancies and properly identify, separate, and report non-conforming materials.

  • Inventory Management: Accurately count, label, and log incoming materials into inventory using barcode scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS).

  • Material Handling: Safely operate forklifts, motorized pallet jacks, high-rise lifts, and other material-handling equipment to move and store pallets and materials.

  • Inventory Accuracy: Assist with physical inventory counts and ensure materials are properly identified, organized, and stored.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate receiving records and promptly communicate shipment discrepancies or inventory issues to the appropriate team members.

  • Warehouse Safety: Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving and warehouse area.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with purchasing, warehouse, production, and other departments to ensure materials are received and made available efficiently.

Qualifications

  • Previous warehouse, receiving, or material-handling experience preferred.

  • Forklift operating experience required or strongly preferred.

  • Experience with barcode scanners, inventory systems, or WMS is a plus.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately count and record inventory.

  • Ability to read and understand purchase orders, packing slips, and shipping documentation.

  • Chemical or precious metal handling/inventory experience is a plus.

  • Ability to safely lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.

  • Dependable, organized, and safety-conscious.
