Job Title: R&D PROCESS ENGINEER

SUMMARY:
The R&D Process Engineer will have the responsibilities of improving the processing and performance of current and future products, as well as evaluating, validating and implementing expansion of our current supply chain.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Conduct studies to determine the effect of process changes on the core manufacturability and performance.
• Design, evaluate, manufacture and oversee the implementation of changes to the hardware of our current process.
• Develop and execute evaluation plans for examination of raw materials.
• Support problem solving of manufacturing issues in a timely manner.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• B.S. degree in engineering or related field. M.S. degree preferred.
• 5 years of process engineering experience with composite materials, plastics or similar.
• Work experience in pultrusion especially preferred.
• Demonstrable root cause problem solving skills.
• Experience with mechanical testing and characterization of composites desired.
• Must possess the ability to work independently, innovate and take responsibility.
• Must be able to multi-task and to self-educate on new test methods.
• Must have the ability to effectively work with external vendors.
• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
• Experience in Quality Control, ISO documentation and 6-Sigma desired.
• Must have the ability to maintain a neat and organized lab and to work safely.
