Job Overview:

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for more complex tasks within electrical engineering. Design and analyze electrical systems, troubleshoot issues, and participate in the development of project plans. Level II engineers often collaborate with level I engineers and may lead small projects or tasks.  This position is expected to be in the Versailles location 4 days a week.  This is not a remote position.

ESSENTIAL/PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Creates and interprets electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
  • Leads in small construction of prototypes and models for testing and evaluation.
  • Applies new electrical engineering techniques through mentored experience.
  • Understands and performs testing required for appropriate regulatory standards and product specifications.
  • Analyzes test results and troubleshoots to root cause of failure.
  • Collaborates with development team and more experienced engineers. Escalates significant issues or decisions to higher-level engineers.

 

SECONDARY DUTIES:

  • Works independently and collaboratively on data analysis and problem-solving following general guidelines.
  • Follows quality management practices.
  • Provides general technical support for other team members.
  • Participates in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field and 2+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of both.

COMPETENCY and/or SKILL: 

  • Working knowledge of basic communication protocols (i.e., I2, SPI, UART, CAN, Ethernet, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of technical tools and methods
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Working understanding of analog and digital circuits, power systems, microcontrollers, and signal processing
  • Ability to create standard PCB layouts and schematics
  • Ability to create and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Working knowledge of PCB fabrication and assembly processes
  • Good understanding and capability technical tools and methods
  • Familiarity with all engineering tools and methods
  • Working knowledge of engineering principles and practices
  • Working knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to level I engineers and co-op's.
