R&D Commercialization Scientist

Job Description

As an R&D Commercialization Scientist at Alamance Foods, you will work hands-on with the development of new products, from conceptualization to successful commercialization. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining project timelines, communicating with other departments and customers, and completing deliverables throughout the development process.

Key Accountabilities and Outcomes

• Lead the development and execution of customer and internal development projects
  1. Project scope and requirements
  2. Timeline for project completion
  3. Resources required for the project (ingredients, equipment, etc.)
  4. Maintain proper documentation of formula creation and modification based on results
  5. Plan, organize and carry out new product trials
• Develop, maintain, and review product specifications, ingredient specifications, batching instructions, and process flow charts for new and existing products
• Request and organize technical documentation from suppliers
• Ensure compliance of all formulation activities to applicable GMPs, FDA, SOPs
• Assist in day-to-day management of the R&D Laboratory
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve complex product issues

Skills Required

• Perform under pressure to meet deadlines
• Work effectively both independently and in a team
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite
• Attention to detail
• Strong communication skills
• Organization skills

Education & Experience 

• Bachelors or Masters in Food Science or related majors
• 0-2 years experience in the food industry
• Experience with dairy or dairy alternatives is preferred
• Experience with leadership is preferred
