POSITION SUMMARY

The Materials Lead- Kitting will lead the kitting team in assembling kits for production with the in-house inventory. They will be responsible for planning, storage, control, and distribution of materials and products according to production and company needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

All employees are required to support Rosenbauer’s Mission, Vision, and Values. The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer.

Responsible for research and training the team in cycle count, reconciliations, and BoM.
Oversees kitting and scheduling process to ensure kits are delivered to production on time.
Fills in for other warehouse employees when they are not available.
Train employees in standard department functions.
Answers any questions from employees. And communicates and concerns with the supervisor.
Ability to perform supervisor tasks in the absence of the supervisor.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the organization and our members.

Tools to be utilized:

Hand tools, power tools, Sawzall, drill, hammer, prybar, bander- metal/cloth, and ratchet straps.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA’s): The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience:

High school diploma/GED.
Previous experience operating a forklift preferred.
Ability to obtain a forklift certification required.
3-5 years of experience in a materials department required.
5+ years of experience in a materials department preferred.

Skills:

Language:

Able to read blueprints and work from spec books.
Able to follow written and verbal directions.
Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Math:

Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Computer:

Able to perform simple tasks, such as creating an email and using basic commands. Use of Microsoft office suite (excel, word, etc.), and adobe for viewing prints.

Abilities:

Able to communicate progress of projects to the appropriate supervisor.
Able to identify quality issues, recognize changes within the production process, and adjust as needed.
Able to prioritize work and to multitask while adhering to deadlines.
Able to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
Able to understand and follow all safety policies to promote a safe working environment for all.
