POSITION SUMMARY

The Cab Line Assembler will install a variety of new components into the newly made fire truck cab including floors, door components, lights, wire harnesses, and windows. The Cab Line Assembler will mount a variety of equipment both inside and outside of the cab.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

All employees are required to support Rosenbauer’s Mission, Vision, and Values. The following are the essential duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer.

  1. Install interior trim, vents, and door components on the cab.
  2. Runs wire harnesses according to schematics.
  3. Crimps and connects wires and electrical components together.
  4. Install kick steps and light system along with other components on the floor of the cab.
  5. Wires the air pumps, dash components, and fuse box to complete the electrical components within the cab.
  6. Install seats, light bars, mirrors, and other equipment to the cab.
  7. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the organization and our members.

Tools to be utilized:

Hand tools, power tools, wire stripper/crimper, utility knife, and tape measure.

Qualifications


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA’s): The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Strong mechanical and technical ability required.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.

Skills:

Language:

  • Able to read and work from blueprints/spec books.
  • Able to read and understand a tape measure accurately.
  • Able to follow written and verbal directions.

Math:

  • Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Computer:

  • Able to perform simple computer tasks to obtain information/changes related to the build process and/or troubleshoot.

Abilities:

  • Able to identify quality issues, recognize changes within the production process, and adjust as needed.
  • Able to prioritize work and to multitask while adhering to deadlines.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
  • Able to understand and follow all safety policies to promote a safe working environment for all.
