Job Overview:
The Raw Materials and Supplier Quality Management Senior Specialist will develop and implement the company's supplier policy focusing on regulatory, quality, and document requirements. This position will work closely with internal teams, suppliers, and third-party vendors to ensure compliance with industry standards, improve supply chain integrity, and support the company’s operations and compliances.
Key Responsibilities
Policy Development and Implementation:
Develop and maintain supplier policies covering quality, regulatory, and documentation requirements.
Ensure alignment of supplier policies with global regulations, customer expectations, and industry standards.
Oversee the review and update process of supplier policies as regulations or business needs evolve.
Supplier Communication and Relationship Management:
Communicate the company’s policies and expectations to suppliers and third-party partners.
Establish strong partnerships with suppliers to ensure adherence to company requirements.
Act as the primary liaison between the company and suppliers on quality and compliance issues.
Monitor supplier performance and initiate improvement actions as needed to ensure consistent quality and compliance.
Internal Collaboration and Training:
Work closely with cross-functional teams (Procurement, R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Legal, etc.) to ensure supplier policies are understood and integrated into operations.
Lead the development and delivery of training programs on supplier policies and compliance for internal teams.
Collaborate with relevant personnel to address supplier non-conformances and develop corrective actions.
Quality and Regulatory Management:
Monitor supplier compliance with global regulatory requirements ensuring all documentation is up-to-date.
Review and approve supplier documentation, including Certificates of Analysis (COA), Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and regulatory certifications.
Conduct supplier audits to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
Participate in new supplier qualification processes and periodic re-evaluations.
Supplier Risk and Performance Monitoring:
Develop and implement processes to assess and mitigate risks in the supply chain.
Monitor and evaluate supplier quality and performance metrics.
Work with suppliers to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain a supplier scorecard and track key performance indicators (KPIs).
Document Management:
Manage and maintain a supplier documentation database to ensure availability of up-to-date regulatory and quality documents.
Ensure timely reporting and tracking of supplier compliance documents and certificates.
Collaborate with the Data Integrity team to ensure all supplier data is accurate and complete.
Other Relevant Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Procurement team to ensure raw material and supplier quality requirements are integrated into purchasing agreements.
Stay informed on industry trends and evolving regulations affecting raw materials and supply chains.
Support the development and implementation of a Supplier Quality Management System (SQMS) to ensure end-to-end supplier compliance.
Contribute to the resolution of product quality issues related to supplier materials and participate in root cause investigations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Quality Management, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in supplier quality management, raw materials management, 3rd party vendor management or regulatory compliance within the chemical or consumer products industries.
Strong knowledge of global regulatory requirements and quality management systems.
Experience working with raw materials and/or third-party vendors.
Proven ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers and auditors.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of supplier audits, risk assessments, and non-conformance management.
Proficiency in data and/or document management systems.
Ability to collaborate and deliver training programs for diverse teams.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
