Radar Operator Manager – Remote with Shipboard Rotation
OPPORTUNITIES ARE SHIPBOARD ON AN OCEAN-GOING MARINE VESSEL. Typically working 3 Rotations per year, each one is approximately 10 weeks. Working 12 hours per day, 7 days per week when at sea, 84 hours per week. Along with the rotations at sea, you’d get 3 home (time-off) leaves each year at 7 weeks each.

What You Will Do:

  • Manage a team of radar operator/maintainers supporting the sea-based X-Band Radar Program.
  • Be the primary liaison with the vessel’s system engineers and CONUS engineering team to ensure flawless radar operation and maintenance.
  • Support and execute radar modifications, and enhancements to the system in accordance with customer and technical specifications.
  • Work in a team environment to resolve equipment anomalies.
  • Execute preventative maintenance as defined in program technical manuals.
  • Radar operation as well as conducting troubleshooting, technical analysis, and corrective actions of all radio frequency (RF) elements, to include receiver-exciters, transmit/receive modules, and beam forming networks for the XBR hardware.
  • Be capable of climbing and performing work at moderate heights above the ground.
  • Meet the requirements of an annual Maritime Physical examination.
  • Have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Experience with large, phased array radar installation, including a working knowledge of engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, procedures.
  • Experience maintaining and operating assigned equipment in accordance with technical documentation.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 8 years of relevant experience or an AS degree with 10 years of relevant experience or H.S. diploma with 12 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience working with the of Microsoft Office suite of desktop application software.
  • Experience interacting with customer representatives and coordinating actions with other contractors, with the experience communicating clearly in both verbal and written formats regarding technical issues.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience assessing the performance of RF systems, as well as in monitoring, troubleshooting, isolating failures and removing/replacing failed components in such systems.
  • Experience in test, integration, maintenance, alignment, adjustment, calibration, and operation of RF equipment associated with radar systems, to include transmitters, receivers, fiber optics, control systems, cabling, and interconnects.
  • Experience working in a maritime shipboard environment for extended periods.
  • Familiar with Raytheon practices regarding technical documentation.
  • Familiar with US Department of Defense testing and acceptance practices for facilities sub-systems.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
