Operates a multi-needle quilting machine and other equipment in order to efficiently produce quilted mattress panels per production quality and quantity requirements. Ensures that all materials are loaded properly to the quilting machines and match the specifications for the production requirements, with the goal to produce quality quilted mattress panels. Machine operations include pattern selection, needle positioning, and panel cutting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (includes the following, however, other duties may apply.)
- Loads/reloads all materials into the machine to include fabric, polyurethane foam, or fiber rolls, and backing onto the quilting machine.
- Loads/reloads thread, thread machine and bobbins.
- Adjust needle positioning and patterns as required.
- Measures and sets panel cutting blades and adjusts panel cutting machine as required.
- When machine is in operation, monitor with visual, sound cues, and make adjustments as needed in order to prevent damage and waste of the panels.
- Measures and inspects finished panels to ensure quality and look for skipped stiches that will need to be sent on for repair.
- Maintains workstation in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion, and performs job duties in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform quilting machine tasks according to safety standards, and efficiency procedures.
- Perform routine maintenance such as lubricating machinery.
- Operates Computer related to quilting function.
- Walks to storage areas and returns with materials as needed.
- Documents transition lengths.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Good eye/hand coordination
- Able to lift and move 50+ lbs.
- Good organizational skills and detail orientated.
- Ability to interpret and support standards, policies and procedures established by Paramount and Federal/State/Local agencies
- Basic mathematical skills
- Basic ability to read/use a ruler, add/subtract and calculate fractions.
