General Information/Job Summary
This role supports the Project Controls team and Project Management staff by assisting with construction progress measurement, periodic reporting, and change management activities. The position is based on a construction site, providing hands-on exposure to day-to-day project execution. It offers an excellent opportunity to gain a deep understanding of process plant construction from the ground up, with clear pathways for a motivated, self-starter to grow into advanced roles in Project Controls or Construction Management.
Responsibilities/Competencies
- Support the Site Construction Team, Home Office Engineering team, Site Engineering Team, and Field Personnel as needed to complete assigned tasks.
- Provide weekly construction progress measurements utilizing cloud-based progress management software.
- Maintain tracking system that reflects current project budgets and accommodates for any scope changes.
- Maintain project drawing set showing all up-to-date revisions and progress mark-ups.
- Assist project management staff with work package development if needed.
- Interface with project control staff for updating client and internal project reports, and schedule progress.
- Ensure IFC Quantities are developed and reported to Project Controls.
- Develop extensive knowledge of project scope, work with project staff to maintain control budget and any deviations.
- Work with an estimating team to develop labor estimates as drawings are issued and load into project tracking system.
- Provide periodic audits of site construction progress.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Engineering, or Construction Management.
- Strong computer skills, with proficiency in MS Excel and the ability to quickly learn new software.
- Exposure to or basic understanding of multi-discipline construction concepts preferred.
- Familiarity with construction progress measurement and reporting methods is a plus.
- Interest in learning more about the following areas is highly desirable:
- Site work (excavation, underground piping, and electrical).
- Concrete installation techniques (structural and equipment foundations).
- Structural steel installation and tracking.
- Piping systems (takeoffs, field welds, shop fabrication, insulation).
- Electrical systems (cable tray, conduit, wire, terminations, testing).
- Process control systems (instrumentation, DCS, etc.).
- Understanding of construction industry practices, processes, and standards, or willingness to learn.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Professional, ethical, and motivated to grow within the company.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to walk the property and laydown yards.
- Ability to carry up to 50 pounds.
