Position: Quality Technician & Team Lead Supervisor
Position Type: Exempt (Salary)
Position Description:
This Quality Tech & Team Lead Supervisor role is responsible for inspecting, checking, validating and/or verifying product (raw and finished good inventory) to ensure that it meets the required specifications to meet customer standards. This position will work with the other quality team members to ensure a robust quality management system along with performing PPAP’s and quality audits and analysis. This position will support Continuous Improvement by providing consistent training of Quality Team Leads, Trainers, and Quality Interns.
Position Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret information from engineering drawings, travelers, specifications, and other documents to generate a complete and precise inspection report/record.
- Perform PPAP’s to ensure new projects and mold improvements can deliver parts to customers per print.
- Investigates and analyzes product and process failures; recommends corrective action; compiles internal and external trend and Failure Analysis data for submission to Management and/or Customers.
- Measure, evaluate, and/or audit purchased components and raw materials to ensure conformance to quality standards and performance requirements.
- First Article Inspection Reports for purchased components, resin, packaging, etc.
- Interfaces and provides support to other departments, suppliers, and customers on quality related issues, as necessary.
- Perform thorough examinations of all materials and finished products.
- Conduct and report internal audits and evaluations.
- BOM audits to ensure products meet quality requirements.
- Implement and improve quality control operating procedures.
- Execute critical dimensional inspections using standard measuring tapes, gages, etc. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- This position will provide timely and annual feedback to quality team leads and direct reports thru daily conversations and thru annual performance reviews.
- This position will have direct input on performance of quality team leads.
- Mentoring, Training, and Auditing of Quality Team Leads, Trainers, and Quality Interns.
- Work closely with Shift Supervisors on Daily Quality needs
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Summary:
- Minimum of three (3) years manufacturing experience.
- Computer skills including experience working with MS office tools.
- Ability to read and interpret prints.
- Experience working with calipers, reading tape measure, and working with other measuring tools.
- Knowledge of ISO
- Manage a staff of 6-9
