Position Description
Performs a variety of quality control tests and inspections on products, materials, components and parts at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with quality and reliability standards. Records statistical data, analyzes data and communicates test results.
Job Responsibilities
- Records and documents test data; analyzes, interprets and professionally communicates test results
- Supports production areas in troubleshooting problems related to the engine components and engine assembly which may include preparing sketches and graphical output
- Verifies implemented quality improvements to the manufacturing process
- Uses problem solving techniques, reports root cause of engine failures
- Performs other duties as assigned
Job Skills Requirements
- Ability to use common hand tools, power tools and measuring devices necessary to engine testing
- Basic knowledge of internal combustion engines, electric circuits, stress analysis, etc
- Ability to use common test equipment; familiarity with small engines and small engine dynamometers
- Problem solving and analytical skills to perform root cause, engine failure and other in-depth analyses
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of SPC, GD&T & metrology desired
- FMEA knowledge and experience preferred
- Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location
Competencies
Education
- Associates DegreeinEngine Technology,orequivalent education and experience
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of one year experience working with small engines and engine powered equipment
- Minimum of one year product technician or manufacturing technician experience preferred
- Experience in Advance Quality Planning preferred
Certifications Preferred
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Domestic and/or international travel as required up to 10%
