JOB TITLE: Quality Technician - Production OGP
REPORTS TO: Production Program Manager
FLSA: Non-exempt
JOB SUMMARY: Implements the quality assurance and prevention activities in Production using statistical analysis, calibration, software, and inspection/testing techniques. Assists and trains other OGP production team and inspectors on statistical techniques, calibration, inspection/test. Exemplifies the Accumold brand.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists with the development and training of OGP operators, inspectors, and production operators with regards to measurement, statistical techniques, calibration processes, drawing and specification interpretation, and maintenance of measurement and test equipment.
- Write and verify new programs. Then implement with OGP and Production team. Ensures the programs have proper documentation on how to run.
- Inspects and tests products at various stages of the production process using a variety of measuring and testing equipment per standards.
- Records the results of inspection and testing using paper and electronic systems.
- Ability to fill in and run in-process measurements if needed.
- Identifies needed measurement and inspection equipment and fixtures for effective implementation of measurement.
- Assist with trouble shooting measurement issues throughout production.
- Periodically audits the effectiveness of measurement, test, and inspection throughout the production facility and recommends means for improvement.
- Leads effort to create new measurement processes and improve existing measurement processes, instructions, and techniques. Works with Quality Engineers, Quality Lab on new parts and processes to ensure compliance to customer and regulatory requirements.
- Provides aid, instruction, and training to Production team regarding quality/measurement issues.
- Leads effort to complete Gage R & R studies as required.
- Communicates issues and potential problems to the production supervisors, managers, or VP.
- Trains other employee regarding new and existing in-process inspection techniques.
- Performs duties in accordance with Accumold’s Core Values, Policies, and Objectives. This includes the Quality Policy and Environmental Policy.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Education/Experience. High school education coursework or GED required. Experience or training in use of testing and measuring equipment such as microscopes, visual systems, digital indicators, micrometers, or other inspection equipment used to monitor quality.
- Computer Skills. Ability to operate personal computer, copy machine, and telephone required. Proven accuracy in keyboarding skills to enter data correctly and efficiently.
- Language Skills. Written communication skills necessary. Ability to read, comprehend, and utilize instructions and short correspondence with professionals. Ability to effectively present information to other employees, in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Mathematical Skills. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratios, and percent.
- Blueprint Skills - Ability to read and understand specification drawings for inspection purposes. Ability to understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Reasoning Ability. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with several concrete variables. Ability to follow simple verbal instructions. Ability to reach conclusions, make decisions and recommendations to management.
- Other Skills and Abilities. Willingness to attend conferences, classes, or training to enhance and update knowledge and skills.
- Supervisory Responsibilities. None
- Physical Demands. While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is frequently required to sit/stand and use hand to manipulate very small parts or tweezers. Sense of touch may be used to detect texture, burs, and edges. Frequent movement throughout the facility is required. Normal or corrected to normal vision is required with good color vision, close vision, and ability to use microscope and adjust focus. May be required to move or transport up to 55 lbs.
- Work Environment. The duties of this job are executed in a climate-controlled environment with few temperature or humidity extremes. Noise levels will vary from very low to moderate depending on the location that the work is performed within the facility. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
