Position: Quality Technician II
Location: Neville Island Plant – Pittsburgh, PA

Hours of work: Full-time rotating shift position in a 24 hour / 7 day per week operation


 With minimal supervision, the Quality Technician II performs standardized laboratory testing on raw materials, in-process materials and finished products to determine compliance against specifications. The Quality Technician II is responsible for knowledge of product specifications and recognition of testing discrepancies, and maintains accurate laboratory records in a neat and orderly manner. The Quality Technician II works cooperatively with other plant teams and Corporate QA to analyze and communicate product quality parameters
 
Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to)

  • Responsible for the non-supervised interface with other plant teams and Corporate QA in a cooperative fashion, demonstrating teamwork to communicate product quality and analytical information to assist in the proactive resolution of issues
  • Using written procedures, prepares samples for analysis and performs testing on raw materials, in-process materials and finished products to establish conformity to specifications
  • Maintains complete and accurate records of all test data and results
  • Prepares and standardizes chemical solutions in the laboratory on a routine basis
  • Responsible for the recognition of testing discrepancies. Works to understand the cause of such discrepancies and implement a corrective action
  • Communicates problem conditions to supervisor, peers, plant teams and Corporate QA as required
     

Qualifications

  • An associates degree or equivalent certification from a 2-year college or technical school is required
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent certification from a 4-year college or university is required (can be considered equivalent of 2-3 years’ experience)
  • 2-3 Years of Laboratory Technician experience or equivalent education is required (or equivalent education)
