We are looking for a Quality Technician that will be a part of the continuous improvement of AMACO.

Responsibilities:

**Shipping :

**

-Perform shipping audits as needed to reduce errors

-This includes forktruck layer checks, pick/pack audits, and dockside truck loading audits

  • The shipping audits require data logging and paretos and participation in Gemba report outs

**Mechanical :

**

  • Inspect wheels, slab rollers extruders, kiln elements, and related parts including in-process and finished Mechanical Division assemblies

  • In process quality checks and the associated documentation and procedures and documentation that goes along with this process .

  • Quality-related data tracking, including customer returns and warranty-related

responsibilities

  • Departmental and interdepartmental communication, including non-conformity management and vendor quality issue tracking and reporting

  • Internal auditing of all applicable processes and products

  • Receiving inspection of Mechanical Division and crossover products

  • Act in accordance with relevant safety equipment ( PPE) and procedures

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate/work closely with customer care, production, purchasing and shipping/logistics

  • Assist in supporting customer needs (updating warranty claims, tickets, projects and other tasks)

  • Conduct inspection, tests, and analyses to assure the quality of assigned product or component (Includes incoming inspections,production and supply chain inspections, shipping inspections and data collection, sorting and rework, assembly and control inspection, first piece inspection, final approvals and other tasks as assigned.)

  • Managing Inventory control of QA hold locations

  • Track and manage storage and flow of nonconforming, scrap and suspect material

  • Issue and track supplier complaints in case of significant or repeat non-conformances

  • Track supplier related and internal quality issues in applicable quality issue logs

  • Be involved in continuous improvement projects including but not limited to:

  • Systemic Problem Solving

  • SPC

  • Lean

  • Document data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with company policies and procedures.

  • May require formulated cross training*

Skills:

  • Strong Mechanical aptitude preferred

  • Knowledge of basic electrical theory preferred

  • Blueprint/technical document reading preferred

  • MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), NAV and Tracker software

  • Self Motivated to work independently and in team environment

  • Organize and manage changing priorities

  • Keen reasoning and observational skills

  • Proactive and creative problem solving and troubleshooting

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Use of hand tools and precision measuring equipment

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs., manipulate and re-position 95 lbs.

  • Willingness to participate in any relevant on-the-job training as needed

Work Environment:

The individual working in this position must be able to work in both hot and cold environments.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and listen in English. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk and use hands and fingers to handle or feel surfaces, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, and to stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific visual acuity abilities required by this job include: ability to adjust focus to distinguish objects and printed material near and far, color and peripheral vision and depth perception.

General 20/20 vision with or without corrective glasses and lenses preferred.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Thursday 40+ hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel:

No travel is required for this position, but may be made available as an occasional option.

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma, or equivalent is required

Higher education is preferred

Minimum 2 years work experience
