Job Overview:

DESCRIPTION

Quality Technician for In-process/ Final Quality Control is primarily responsible for maintaining quality-assurance processes, testing products, and recording/ analyzing data and support for Quality Procedures during all the production phases. Quality Technicians will report to the Quality Manager and interact with various production, warehouse, service, and engineering departments. A Manufacturing Quality Technicians’ top focus is ensuring adherence and support for product quality standards, including (but not limited to) monitoring, reporting, and communicating process improvement or defect opportunities. Other duties as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

IMPORTANCE

Approx. % OF TIME

Perform IPQC/FQC quality testing and inspection on finished machines and service kits. With the use of MT&E (measurement and test equipment) and other tools (e.g. caliper, torque)

Perform investigation (troubleshooting) for in-process assembly, EOL / customer claims (TFR) and report potential assembly nonconformance. Work together with stakeholders inside and out of the quality department to drive initiatives

Maintain and communicate daily, monthly and quarterly on KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).

Perform and report internal process audit. Assist with implementation of corrective actions. Review ECO (Engineering Change Orders) with Quality and support implementation.

Support development and maintenance of IPQC/FQC related procedures and documentation in line with ISO 9001 and 14001 (as applicable) improvement initiatives.

Maintain 6S for work environment. Maintain quality calibration schedule and related tasks.

Initiate and communicate Quality Alerts for production-related issues.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

  • Technical degree or associates in related field, or ASQ Quality Technical certification (CQT)

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-years experience in mechanical production or related technical fields.

KNOWLEDGE & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

  • Experience in mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and/or electrical systems & components.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Stand and walk for duration of shift, ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Basic understanding of design drawings.
  • Experience in measurement and testing techniques.
  • Experience in ISO 9001 environment.
  • Preferred experience with ISO 14001.
  • Positive team oriented collaborative approach to tasks.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, and Outlook minimum.
  • Visual Factory (or equivalent software) knowledge desirable.
  • ERP system experience desirable (SAP preferred).
  • Data analysis knowledge and application abilities preferred.
