Hood Container Packaging Services is looking for a dedicated Quality Technician to join our team at our facility in Owensboro, Kentucky. If you have a keen eye for detail, a strong commitment to quality, and experience in a manufacturing environment, we would love to hear from you!

  • High School diploma or G.E.D.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP Systems
  • Possess the skills necessary to perform reading, writing, and mathematics to maintain the required production reports and plan balanced workloads.
  • Perform the duties of Quality Technician with minimal supervision.
  • Effectively communicate instructions and requirements.
  • Demonstrate initiative and effectiveness in dealing with out-of-the-ordinary situations that may arise in the course of the job.
  • Work overtime or odd shifts as necessary to meet production requirements.
  • Maintain an exceptional level of attendance and punctuality.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
  • Packing services industry experience preferred.
  • Must be able to work in high temperature & humidity conditions while wearing proper PPE, including, but not limited to, hearing protection, steel-toe shoes, and safety glasses.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

 

How You Will Contribute:

  • Perform Quality daily tasks as needed, including Job packet maintenance. 
  • Review end-of-day counts with all Quality and receive final approval from the Supervisor.
  • Assist with the support of production lines on quality/inventory issues.
  • Review/validate all reject sheets.  Remove rejects from production inventory daily.
  • Complete all required documentation and submit it at the end of the shift.
  • Perform 1st articles of inspection.
  • Participate in cycle counts as requested and participate in all physical inventories.
  • Perform all tasks assigned by the supervisor.
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and prioritize.
  • Ability to retain technical information.
  • Perform hourly quality line audits and document Opportunity for Improvement
  • Follow all SOP's set forth.  Lead by example.
  • Ensure FIFO/FEFO is being maintained.
  • Be able to participate in RCFA's and present out findings
  • Accurately complete job packets and maintain Good Documentation Practices
