Job Summary & Essential Functions
Perform technician duties for the Quality Engineering department, take on technician tasks which are currently being performed by Quality Engineers. Perform duties related to customer returns, disposition of internal produced non-conforming product and input results in various software systems.
- Creates plans for receiving, in-process, and final inspection activities
- Create, revise, and distribute effective inspection plans and instructions for inspecting printed circuit board components and assemblies, electro-mechanical assemblies, and mechanical components and assemblies
- Engage process owners and stakeholders for inputs to ensure inspection documents are appropriate, accurate, and adhere to quality requirements
- Maintain knowledge of inspection standards, methods, tools, equipment, and guidelines to ensure inspection documents employ best practices and current technology
- Use and facilitate adherence to quality management system procedures for the inspection, acceptance, and related quality assurance processes
- Establish and maintain data files to support an effective and efficient inspection and acceptance process
- Compile and evaluate results of inspection and acceptance activities to adjust and update inspection screening levels and criteria
- Support inspection activities as needed to ensure the timely and proper completion of inspections
- Perform ESD compliance checks according to quality work instructions
- Monitor ESD compliance and accurately record data
- Set up work areas and equipment as needed to provide a safe manufacturing environment
- Support quality engineering activities as needed to resolve quality issues
Required Skills and Competencies
- Beginner level in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access; ERP and Sharepoint)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, job orders, specifications, drawings, schematics, process sheets, wiring diagrams, and small print
- Strong analytical skills including research, trend analysis, data analysis, and presentation of data through charts and graphs
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills
- Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail to produce quality products and results
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, projects, and assignments to meet established goals and deadlines
- Ability to initiate projects and tasks as required to fulfill goals and deadlines
Required Experience & Education
- High school diploma required; Associate Degree in related technical field preferred
- 2 years previous experience in a manufacturing environment (or demonstrated ability to independently perform essential functions of the job for internal candidates)
- PCB and Cable experience preferred
