Job Summary
The Quality Technician is responsible for providing the Quality Department technical support, such as performing quality tasks and documentation. This person will be a resource for the Quality Department.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
The primary duties and responsibilities of the Quality Technician consist of but are not limited to:
Part Inspection Development and Maintenance:
Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspection and test results per customer requirements.
• Prepare quality reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective action requests (CARs).
• Ensure proper documentation and traceability in accordance with AS9100 and ISO 13485 standards.
Quality Assurance and Control:
• Monitor and enforce quality control processes and procedures.
• Assist in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Support internal and external audits, including preparing necessary documentation and facilitating audit processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Work closely with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to address quality issues.
• Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding quality performance and improvement initiatives.
• Provide training and guidance to production staff on quality standards and procedures.
Continuous Improvement:
• Participate in continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing product quality and process efficiency.
• Contribute to the development and revision of quality documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
General:
• Other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
Education and Experience
• 2 year degree or work experience in place of education requirement.
• 1 year of experience in relevant manufacturing/quality support role.
• Proficiency in the use of precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and CMMs.
• ASQ certification (e.g., CQI, CQT) is desirable but not required.
Competencies
• Strong understanding of quality control principles, statistical process control (SPC), and root cause analysis techniques.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with quality management software and ERP systems (Epicor or other) is preferred.
• Proficient in various computer software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Physical Requirements
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Dexterity with computers - the ability to type and use a mouse.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
• Must be able to meet customer demand requirements for performing visual inspection and/or other product acceptance activities with or without accommodation (only for positions in which this is a requirement of the job per the customer requirement).
• Ability to pass an annual vision test.
