Job Description Summary

Micron is looking for a highly motivated Quality Technician to join our agile R&D team focused on qualifying data center products. In this role, you will support quality engineers with daily tasks such as reviewing requirements, implementing new test software, and developing testing methodologies and tools to enhance qualification and test execution processes. You will play a key role in identifying the root causes of qualification failures and recommending corrective actions. Additionally, you’ll assist with site-wide quality initiatives including audits, 6S, ESD compliance, and other quality programs as needed.   • Coordinate equipment repairs, calibrations, and routine maintenance
  • Manage entries in the Equipment Tracking Interface (ETO)
  • Ensure compliance with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) requirements
  • Plan and organize equipment setup, installation, and layout within the designated area
  • Initiate various reliability test flows based on engineering requests
  • Verify incoming materials against tracking systems for accuracy and physical count
  • Prepare drives and equipment for testing, including board counts, debug hardware, and drive installation
  • Conduct bench-level testing such as drive reformatting, firmware loading, and initial debugging
  • Extract diagnostic data from drives (e.g., elog, UART, superdm, panic logs)
  • Collaborate with Quality and Reliability Assurance (QRA) and Engineering teams to interpret failure data
  • Identify and isolate failing components (e.g., load boards, testers, programs, devices)
  • Restore drive functionality following testing procedures
  • Complete test operations, qualification testing, and pretesting to confirm drive functionality
  • Communicate regularly with engineering teams regarding drive failures, tester issues, software/hardware needs
  • Collect and document failure data accurately using JIRA
  • Maintain JIRA support by monitoring and updating filed tickets to ensure alignment and progress
  • Understand and apply PQEAgent software and hardware tools used in reliability testing
  • Gather and analyze tester debug logs (e.g., syslog, TLP, snap files, oven temperature logs, system logs)

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of experience in quality assurance or testing involving computer hardware and software.
  • 1 year of experience working with tester hardware and understanding its functionality.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Associate degree in a STEM related field or 2 years industry experience; or equivalent military training and experience.
  • Ability to interpret test results, identify faults, and perform effective debugging and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Basic understanding of tester logs and qualification test flows, along with familiarity using JIRA or similar issue-tracking tools.

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

$26.25 - $49.00

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.
