Description
SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
The Quality Technician is primarily responsible for working with the QA and Production employees to ensure and maintain safe operations and acceptable quality materials are being manufactured. The Quality Technician will be responsible for tracking, logging (in detail) and following through on all customer complaints, from onset through closure. The Quality Technician shall be able to perform the duties of a Quality Inspector.
Essential Functions/Skills
- Maintain a high level of knowledge regarding quality requirements of products and quality systems, using such knowledge to be a resource to manufacturing employees.
- Perform and document In-Process quality inspections at production equipment.
- Ensure any nonconforming materials are identified, isolated, controlled, investigated and a disposition plan determined.
- Complete destructive and non-destructive testing using prescribed test methods and lab equipment.
- Ensure correct scrap and line clearance procedures are followed.
- Maintain computer data files (MS Excel).
- Assist operations and quality with investigations of nonconforming materials using root cause analysis tools, such as 5 Whys and Fishbone Analysis.
- Responsible for maintaining ISO standards.
- Transfer learning across teams through training of others.
- Identify improvement opportunities and facilitate the implementation of them.
- Assist the Director of Quality and the Quality Supervisor in maintenance of quality systems as directed.

Hours:
Monday-Wednesday 4:45pm-5:00am

This job operates in a manufacturing environment. Temperature is uncontrolled, and there is heat, dust, noise, fumes, moving equipment and machinery

Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED
Equivalent training, certifications, or experience for listed competencies
2 or more years’ experience in similar or related position(s)
