Job Overview:

A precision manufacturer in Harwood Heights is hiring a Quality Technician to support its quality department during a period of rapid growth. This is a hands-on, entry-to-mid-level role that involves performing dimensional and visual inspections on machined components used across industries like aerospace, oil and gas, and industrial manufacturing.

About the Role

You’ll be part of a team ensuring products meet all quality specifications and standards. The work is fast-paced and dynamic, involving both shop-floor inspection and data entry/documentation tasks. Candidates should have a strong attention to detail, a mechanical mindset, and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Perform dimensional and visual inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other tools.

  • Inspect machined components for defects, burrs, and tolerance compliance.

  • Record inspection data and nonconformances using basic Excel and quality software.

  • Verify material certifications and ensure traceability compliance.

  • Collaborate with machinists and engineers to resolve quality concerns in real time.

  • Participate in maintaining an organized and safe inspection area.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in quality inspection or manufacturing environments.

  • Proficient in using measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints (GD&T familiarity preferred).

  • Basic Excel knowledge for data entry and reporting.

  • Strong communication skills and an eye for detail.

Experience in machining, sheet metal, or ISO-certified manufacturing is a plus.
