About the Job

Express Employment Professionalsis looking for an experiencedQuality Technicianto join a manufacturing team in Detroit. This person will inspect parts, identify quality issues, take measurements, document results, and work with the production team to correct problems.

The ideal candidate isdetail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do

Inspect parts and materials for quality and defects.
Inspectstamped and assembled partsfor appearance and quality.
Perform surface andClass-A inspections.
Check welds and identify weld quality issues.
Use measuring tools such ascalipers, gauges, and other inspection equipment.
Read and understand blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
Record inspection results and maintain accurate quality records.
Identify quality problems and help determine the root cause.
Work with production to correct quality issues.
Monitor production processes to make sure quality standards are being followed.
Inspect incoming materials.
Assist with corrective actions and quality improvements.
Help with internal and external audits.
Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment.
Communicate quality issues and trends to management.
Follow all company safety and quality procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
At least 2 years of Quality Control, Quality Assurance, or inspection experience.
Manufacturing experience preferred.
Experience inspectingstamped or assembled parts.
Experience withClass-A and surface checks.
Experience with weld inspection/testing.
Experience with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Experience with audits is a plus.
Ability to usecalipers, gauges, and other measuring equipment.
Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
Basic computer skills; Microsoft Office experience preferred.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must be willing to work different shifts and overtime as needed.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, reach, and use hands regularly.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
Must be able to occasionally lift up to50 lbs.
Must have good vision, including the ability to see detail, color, and depth.
