Description

The Quality Technician performs basic quality techniques on materials, processes, and products to ensure quality standards are met. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform in-process and final inspections on products to determine conformance with applicable specifications and workmanship standards
  • Inspect and test: materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure specifications are met
  • Ensure services and products comply with customer requirements prior to release of product/service to customer
  • Review and maintain accurate quality records per internal, AS9100, and Nadcap requirements
  • Aid with projects related to research and development, production technology, continual improvement, and quality control
  • Assist with drafting and releasing work instructions and other required documentation to production
  • Ensure test equipment is calibrated and working correctly
  • Identify possible areas for improvement in quality control processes
  • Exercise care and safety in the use of equipment and tools required to complete assigned tasks
  • Use personal protective equipment as required by the job, including but not limited to the wearing of safety shoes, gloves, and eye protection.
  • Perform duties safely, responsibly, and proficiently, observing and complying with all safety and health rules (OSHA, MTI, and MSDS Standards), including safe operation of all equipment.
  • Perform similar or related work as required, directed or as situation dictates and shall exercise any additional powers that are or may be legally conferred upon the position by the Quality Manager or Plant general manager 

Requirements

  • Associates degree or Vocational Training or equivalent
  • 2+ years’ experience as quality inspector or technician
  • ASQ CQT and/or completed coursework in engineering or quality-related programs a plus
  • Experience with AS9001 and/or Nadcap a plus
  • Good mathematical and problem-solving skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints & drawings, specifications, and other technical documents
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other staff, vendors, and customers
  • Organized and detail-oriented with strong level of accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize and adhere to strict deadlines
  • High level of integrity; ability to handle confidential information
