As Quality Technician at Husqvarna Construction in Columbia, SC, your success is critical for quality control of material and processes used in the manufacture of segments, core drills, and blades and ensuring conformity with established practices and standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Internal Auditing of Quality System (QMS) (60% total)

  • Conducts process audits and follow up closure of open audits

  • Ensures timely and accurate data collection

  • Supports department in the root cause analysis and corrective actions for audits findings

  • Performs Receiving inspection

  • Provides immediate feedback to production areas concerning process deviations

Quality Testing and Administration (20% total)

  • Metallographic and Destructive Bend testing

  • Perform in-process product tests

  • Assists in performing first article inspections

  • Back-up for Blade Final Inspection and Segment

  • Support Team in Document Control- Training, Tracking and Distribution

  • Support Team in containment and sorting of in-process non-conformances

External Customer / Supplier Quality Support (20% total)

  • Containment of non-conforming product

  • Sorting of non-conforming material

  • Reporting of evaluation results to Quality Engineer / Quality Manager and or purchasing as appropriate, as well current status

  • Post-Corrective Action Follow-up

  • Strong Mathematical aptitude, including, all units of measure, common fractions and decimals.

  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

  • Effective Oral and written communication skills, with ability to collaborate and influence cross functional teams.

CRITICAL FUNCTIONAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Strong quality systems knowledge ISO 9001 :2015

  • Strong measuring tool application and practice knowledge, such as calipers, micrometers, gauges and optical comparators

  • Strong production process and Quality principles knowledge -Lean, Root Cause, 8D etc.

  • Ability to interpret Data and create charts and graphs

  • Intermediate proficiency (Basic skills/knowledge. Capable of functioning independently) with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Knowledge of SAP systems

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High School or G.E.D. equivalent, CQA / Associate Degree Preferred

  • Minimum of 3-5 years' Quality Auditor experience or equivalent Manufacturing Quality experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Factory environment with noise, dust, etc.

  • Some heavy, repetitive lifting

  • Daily, weekly, monthly and annual deadlines
