Who We’re Looking For

Hood Container Corporation is seeking an Experienced Quality Technician for our Wilmington, NC plant who will be responsible for conducting internal and external Quality Audits, documenting/reporting nonconformance's, responding to customer inquiries. Strong organizational, teamwork, and self-starter skills will lead you to success in this role. 

How You Will Contribute:

• Quality Tech will communicate with colleagues and teammates to have a strategic and first-in-class mentality.
• Assist with line verifications and line clearance verifications.
• Review/validate rejects and help problem-solve with production to reduce/eliminate using root cause analysis.  
• Perform 1st articles of inspection.
• Ensure the completion of all quality check sheets, production records and quality reject sheets daily.
• Assist Mock recalls as directed by Quality Lead.
• Maintain Quality Management System through daily walks and internal audits.
• Support all departments with internal and external quality concerns during a customer complaint.
• Support Management with all internal and external audits.
• Perform Quality/Data Entry daily tasks as needed.
• Must be able to work in high temperature & humidity conditions while wearing proper PPE including, but not limited to, hearing protection, steel toe shoes, and safety glasses.

What it takes

• Computer Skills – Excel, Word, Quality System, and Inventory Mgmt. Software 
• Excellent Observation and Organizational Skills 
• Effective Communication (Oral/Written) and Training Skill Set 
• HS Diploma/G.E.D. Required

Preferred

• Experience in corrugated industry
• 1-3 years previous QA/QC experience
• Internal Auditor Certification/Training
• Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015, HAACP, SQF, or ASI cGMP
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
