Job Overview:

**JOB SUMMARY:

**

Responsible for maintaining quality-assurance processes, measuring & testing products, and recording and analyzing results data during product development and manufacturing. Follows through on set processes and ensures adherence to best production practices and product quality standards, as well as monitor the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of product output.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

**

  • Inspect, test, and measure finished parts in accordance with established quality/production standards and customer design specifications.

  • Measure parts utilizing calipers, gauges, and/or micrometers.

  • Operate Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) to test capability of parts.

  • Reads blueprints and understands Geometric Dimensions & Tolerances (GD&T) symbols.

  • Document findings; compile and organize quality data/reports for the Lead Quality Inspector, Cell Leaders, and/or Manufacturing Manager for further review and handling.

  • Signs Certificates of Conformation for packing department.

  • Completes first article inspections and assures all paperwork is included with the packaged part.

  • Accept or reject finished parts and remove all products and materials that fail to meet specifications.

  • Issues and maintains inventory of shop tools.

  • Keeps abreast of current quality standards and other accreditation standards, as well as the latest quality techniques in manufacturing.

  • Keeps up-to-date with current literature and outside/agency requirements.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Adhere to Zero Hour Parts quality management system and ensure all parts, projects and jobs meet the expectations and standards for the customer.

**QUALIFICATIONS:

**

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent

    , Associate degree preferred. ASQ (American Society for Quality) Certification a plus.

  • Metallurgy laboratory training preferred.

  • Must be knowledgeable in the use of gauges, c

    alipers and micrometers.

  • Must possess meticulous work habits, be skilled in quality processes, statistical techniques and knowledgeable about measurement & test equipment and failure mode & effects analysis (FMEA).

  • Experience and/or knowledge of a wide range of materials helpful (ie: steel, aluminum, stainless, plastic, titanium, copper, brass); multi-industry parts/product experience a plus (ie: aerospace, automotive, medical device, etc.) a plus.

  • Attention to detail and an aptitude for working with data are crucial.

  • Demonstrated initiative, ability to work with others, and good professional judgment.

  • Ability to work independently and organize time effectively.

  • Needs to have reading comprehension, knowledge of mathematics, and use of active listening skills.

  • Must possess a strong work ethic, good attendance habits, be adaptable, and work well in a fast-paced, high-volume & challenging work environment.

  • Tools Required

  • Proficiency with the Micro Office Suite & Outlook; computer software knowledge within assigned area of responsibility desired.
