In this role, you’ll operate and program CMM equipment to ensure parts and components meet exact specifications and the highest quality standards. You’ll collaborate closely with Quality and Production teams to solve challenges, improve processes, and help drive continuous improvement across the facility.
What You’ll Do
- Operate, program, and maintain CMM equipment to perform precise dimensional inspections
- Develop and edit CMM programs for new and existing parts to ensure accurate, repeatable measurements
- Interpret blueprints, CAD models, and GD&T to effectively set up and run inspections
- Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections to verify product conformance
- Use precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges for detailed measurements
- Record and analyze inspection results, ensuring compliance with required tolerances
- Generate reports and communicate findings to Quality and Production teams
- Identify trends and support root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Partner with engineering and production teams to improve quality and processes
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of CMM equipment
- Troubleshoot measurement equipment and software issues as needed
- Support quality audits by maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Ensure compliance with internal standards and industry regulations (ISO, IATF, etc.)
- Stay current with new measurement technologies and best practices
What You Bring
- 3+ years of experience as a CMM Technician or Quality Inspector in manufacturing (preferred)
- Hands-on experience programming and operating CMM systems (PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar)
- Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint interpretation
- Proficiency with precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.)
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret data and identify root causes of quality issues
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 (a plus)
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and CAD software
- Certification in quality inspection or metrology (preferred)
- Experience with advanced measurement technologies like 3D scanning or laser tracking (a plus)
Education
- Associate’s degree or technical certification in a related field (preferred)
