Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Supports company safety (EHS) policies and initiatives, supports and drives safety culture. Ensures investigations are properly conducted and corrective actions are carried out as assigned.
  • Assists in the design and implementation of AS9100, NADCAP and Customer required Quality Systems.
  • Provide daily supervision to the technical team members.
  • Build and develop quality teams with deep data analytics, reporting, and integration skills to support and implement GT’s automation and digitalization strategy.
  • Build and engage team through onboarding, training, setting objectives, monitoring, and coaching on progress.
  • Establish cross-training for all functions/members of the team to ensure department coverage and on-going support.
  • Resolve first level cross functional escalations.
  • Manage the metrology, calibration, and mold approval program at site and lead/support activities and projects associated with improvement in metrology equipment needed to achieve desired quality levels
  • Lead process and product quality improvements, working with Engineering and Operation in the areas of scrap, process capability, inspection reduction, warranty, etc.
  • Communicate with customers/suppliers as needed.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Education/Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline is required. Lean Practitioner or Six Sigma Green Belt preferred

Skills and Experience:

  • 5+ years in a related Engineering role supporting manufacturing operations

  • 2 years of supervision experience preferred

  • Experience working in a highly regulated industry such as aerospace, automotive, biomedical, etc. preferred.

  • Knowledgeable in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma methodology

  • Expertise or skills in data analytics and reporting utilizing tools for such as Knime, Minitab, Power BI, or other tools/systems. Advanced familiarity with Excel and other common data analytics tools preferred.

  • Demonstrated results towards process improvement, problem solving methods, DOE, Gauge R&R, preferred

  • Experience working in a highly regulated industry such as aerospace, automotive, biomedical, etc. preferred

  • Working knowledge of SPC software (e.g Minitab) & analysis methods preferred

  • Effective technical communication / presentation skills with internal and external customers

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100 preferred

  • Project Management experience/certifications a plus

  • Metrology and calibration experience a plus

  • Experience with QMS a plus
