Job Overview:

**SUMMARY:

**

Provide support for the Quality Department to assure all Customer contract requirements are fulfilled and administration of the Quality Management System.

**

**

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

**

  • Develop an understanding of all needed industry and customer specifications in order to provide administrative support for the review of new product inquiries and to assure all contract requirements are identified and are being addressed.

  • Serve as backup for inspectors in performing visual and dimensional inspection of parts and creating inspection records and final certifications for shipment.

  • Investigate and process Non-Conforming Material reports for discrepancies on in-house parts, vendor parts, and Customer returns.

  • Manage a variety of responsibilities to ensure compliance with AS9100 requirements as well as other Quality System requirements imposed by Customers and company policy.

  • Generate written work instructions that ensure compliance with AS9100.

  • Data entry into Visual Quality including NCM’s, CAR’s, and gage calibration.

  • Provide support to Manufacturing for process improvements and new product development.

  • Perform or oversee internal audits, issues, and follow-up of corrective actions.

  • Oversight and maintenance of all quality documentation and records, such as

Approved Vendor List, material certifications, and overchecks.

  • Obtain, Understand, and Maintain the various records in the Quality Department such as Company, Customer and Industry Specifications,

  • Support activities needed for Gage Calibration and maintenance, including entry into the computer database. Verify that all subcontracted calibration activities comply with ISO 10012.

  • Assist the Director of Quality on a variety of other business tasks that may arise.

  • Perform all duties in accordance with Customer, ISO 9001AS9100, and Regulatory requirements.

  • Server as primary contact for customer portals and general customer requests regarding quality.

  • Oversee and submit PPAP’s, Delta PPAP’s, Customer CAR’s.

  • Maintain current revisions of all policies, procedures, work Instructions, and Customer specifications.

  • Serve as a backup for the Director of Quality Assurance for QMS related meetings.

  • Other duties as assigned by management.

**EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

**

  • Ability to read blueprints and understand geometric dimensioning and tolerances and experience with measuring equipment. Computer literate.

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with various inspection methods, metal fabrication practices, and equipment.

  • Experience with quality system management practices such as AS9100.

  • Ability to interface with Customers, vendors, and co-workers in a professional manner.

  • Because the company runs at a very fast pace with multiple, rapidly changing priorities, the incumbent must be highly flexible, resilient, adaptable, and comfortable working in a dynamic organization with an evolving culture. Incumbent must enjoy a challenge, be passionate about his/her work and have a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.

  • Quality certification preferred.

  • Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing concepts is a plus.

  • Must be able to move throughout the shop floor. 

    Must be able to stand for an extended period of time.
