Job Overview:

A major client of ours is seeking a Quality Supervisor to lead the day-to-day operations of the Quality department within a high-precision CNC machining environment serving the aerospace and medical device industries. This individual will oversee a team of Quality Inspectors, support CMM programming and inspection activities, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and partner with Manufacturing and Engineering to ensure the highest levels of product quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of Quality Inspectors while managing daily inspection activities.
  • Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspection processes to ensure compliance with customer and internal quality standards.
  • Support and/or perform CMM programming and troubleshoot inspection-related issues.
  • Review inspection results, nonconformances, and customer quality concerns while driving root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, CNC Programming, and Operations to improve manufacturing processes and product quality.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100, customer specifications, and internal quality procedures.
  • Monitor quality metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce scrap, rework, and customer issues.
  • Assist with internal audits, customer audits, and quality documentation.
  • Support new product introductions, first article inspections (FAIs), and process validations.
  • Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of quality leadership or supervisory experience within a precision machining or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supervising Quality Inspectors in a CNC machining environment.
  • Hands-on experience with CMM programming and precision inspection equipment.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, blueprint reading, and precision measurement tools.
  • Experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions (CAPA), and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of aerospace quality systems such as AS9100 is highly preferred.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
