We are currently accepting applications for a Quality Supervisor in our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Watertown, WI, conveniently located between Madison and Milwaukee. This is a day shift position, working 4:55 am to 5:25 pm 3-4 days per week.

JOB SUMMARY: Develop, implement, and execute quality systems and programs to prevent or eliminate food safety risks and product quality defects in new and existing products. The Quality Supervisor maintains the authority to cease operations in the event that compliance to quality standards are not being met.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Maintain regulatory compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulatory requirements.
- Develop, implement and execute continuous improvement upgrades to the quality systems and programs.
- Actively monitor the production floor for compliance to food safety and quality systems and programs with an emphasis on identifying gaps between the production floor practices and the quality systems and programs. Review and approve food safety documents.
- Conduct internal Quality and Food Safety training.
- Conduct internal audits (Food Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices [GMP’s], Sanitation, etc.)
- Control non-conforming product according to company policy.
- Coordinate the calibration and perform verification of critical equipment, maintain related documentation.
- Interact with ingredient suppliers and service providers.
- Coordinate collection of product samples and equipment/environmental swabs.
- Review, enter, and file food safety, production, and product quality related documents.
- Release acceptable product for shipment following review of food safety documents.
- Prepare Certificates of Analysis for customer shipments following review of Food Safety Documents, review of product testing results, and compliance to internal product specifications.
- Perform all tasks assigned by the supervisor, while following all company, safety, and quality policies and procedures.
- Participate in Facility Food Safety Team Meetings when possible.
- Act as back-up to Quality Manager, Quality Superintendent, and Quality Technicians (Watertown) during absences. Includes covering all aspects of these Quality positions.
- Support a food safety culture within the sites that ensures at a minimum:
- The establishment, documentation, and communication to all relevant staff of food safety objectives and performance measures;
- Adequate resources are available to meet food safety objectives;
- Food safety practices and all applicable requirements of the SQF System are adopted and maintained;
- Employees are informed and held accountable for their food safety and regulatory responsibilities;
- Employees are positively encouraged and required to notify management about actual or potential food safety issues; and
- Employees are empowered to act to resolve food safety issues within their scope of work.
- Travel to other CQC facilities, training, vendors, and/or customers.
- Work with allergens, such as dairy and soy lecithin.
- Maintain regular attendance at work.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred: Science Based (Food Science, Nutrition, Microbiology, or similar).
- Knowledge of Food Safety, Federal, State, Local, etc. regulations and requirements preferred.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
