Job Overview:

JOB SUMMARY
The Quality Supervisor is a pivotal leadership role responsible for managing a team of Quality Associates and Technicians to ensure all operations meet stringent internal standards and regulatory requirements. This role oversees daily quality control activities, including overseeing Hot Asphalt production/placement, quality and technical service across multiple shifts.
The successful candidate will drive continuous improvement through rigorous investigation of quality events and cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Sales, and Support departments.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage and mentor a team of Quality Associates; coordinate scheduling, training, and performance evaluations to ensure 24/7 quality coverage.
  • Lead the training of staff in analytical procedures, safety protocols, and quality control methodologies; ensure all training records are audit ready.
  • Oversee batch record reviews and documentation troubleshooting; including warranty and cost of quality records; Lead and close-out investigations into quality events such as Corrective and Preventive Actions.
  • Specify sampling procedures and implement testing criteria to ensure product integrity.
  • Analyze production samples and quality control test results, providing technical feedback to production management to facilitate real-time adjustments.
  • Coordinate the calibration, maintenance, and implementation of quality control equipment.
  • Participate in self-led internal inspections and serve as a key point of contact during external regulatory or customer audits.
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints regarding product quality, conducting root cause analyses to prevent recurrence.
  • Assists Quality Manager provide project support for sales/estimators by reviewing plans and specifications prior to project bidding as well as provide required data and documents for material submittals post-bid.
  • Communicates consistently with team and key stakeholders. Attendance at weekly sales and scheduling meetings required as well as customer pre-con/pre-pave meetings.
  • Perform other related tasks assigned by management; ability to work long hours, weekends and/or nights.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • CAPA (A, B, C, E) certification is required.
Work Experience
  • 4+ years of experience in Quality within Construction or Heavy Building Materials.
  • 2+ years of Supervisory experience in Quality Leadership

ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. for equipment servicing.
Required to bend, stoop, climb, and reach. You must be able to maintain three points of contact when climbing on/off machinery or on ladders.
You must have good depth perception with or without seeing aid for distances up to 150 feet.
Working Conditions
All duties require outside assignments and require periods of work in all weather conditions, cold, wet, dry and dusty. Must be able to work in areas where noise levels are up to 85 dbs.
COMPENSATION
The hiring range for this position is $86,000 -$118,000 exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary). The offered base compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiency, skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Martin Marietta we place a high value on internal pay equity and will consider compensation for those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. The hiring range for this role represents the base compensation we expect to pay for the position at time of hire and does not represent the total possible base pay of the position. In addition, this role is eligible for our annual bonus program. Bonuses awarded under this program are determined based on the performance of the organization and the employee.
