The Role:

The Quality Assurance Supervisor plays a critical role in supporting the business through quality-driven processes and material improvements. Working closely with Operations Management and the Safety team, this individual will lead product quality improvements and ensure the highest standards are maintained across all production stages. The role includes handling day-to-day QA operations, managing and developing employees, strengthening team capabilities, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The QA Supervisor will also ensure plant safety, uphold quality standards, and maintain compliance and regulations while supporting ongoing process improvements across operations.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, packaging manufacturing knowledge, and a commitment to continuous improvement and positive cross-functional communication. This role requires someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask, effectively prioritize and shift priorities without losing track of critical tasks. Strong advanced Excel skills and data-driven decision making are essential to support quality performance and operational improvements.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead and develop a team of QA Inspectors through training, mentoring, and performance feedback to strengthen team knowledge, support process standardization, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Prioritize daily quality activities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, ensuring critical issues are addressed promptly while maintaining organization and attention to detail.
  • Oversee the daily QA operations, including managing holds, rework, trials, and addressing defects as they arise.
  • Work closely with the operations team to ensure all line issues are tracked, resolved in a timely manner, and that preventive measures are put in place for recurring issues.
  • Monitor and control the implementation of corrective actions to resolve defects, ensuring any quality concerns are addressed swiftly and efficiently.
  • Enforce quality control standards that align with industry regulations and company goals, ensuring consistency and compliance across all stages of production.
  • Develop and maintain detailed quality documentation, including metrics, reports, and SOPs.
  • Support audits, inspections, and reviews to ensure ongoing quality compliance with ISO 9001 and other relevant industry standards, ensuring readiness for both internal and external audits.
  • Track and analyze quality KPIs and performance metrics, using data and reporting tools to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize data-driven analysis and advanced Excel or other reporting tools to support risk analysis and informed, data-driven decision making.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, streamlining workflows, and enhancing quality assurance methodologies to improve both efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice.

What You Will Bring:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a QA/QC role within manufacturing production operations is required, with strong knowledge of packaging; experience in chemical manufacturing is preferred.
  • Expertise in ISO 9001, 21 CFR Part 820, and other quality standards, with hands-on experience supporting or leading audits and inspections.
  • In-depth knowledge of process improvement methodologies, including Lean, Six Sigma, or similar approaches.
  • Ability to implement and sustain quality systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills with a positive, collaborative approach when working with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously while maintaining organization, accuracy, and high-quality standards.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Syspro, SAP, or similar) is a plus
