Job Overview:

The Quality Service Technician responsibilities are twofold. #1 Fully operate the Satisloh Germantown AR Coating Test/Quality Lab. #2 Assist and over time manage product quality related topics such as product quality evaluation, quality statistics, SL internal quality communication, RMA support, Out-of-Box reporting and follow up in C4C. Work in the SLNA Germantown home offices with all technical and logistics departments and managers. 

Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

#1 AR Coating Test/Quality Lab

  • Receiving, labeling and organizing customer’s lenses according to standard test procedures.
  •  Determining and performing tests needed for the analysis and report.
  •  Recording tests and analyses and reporting the results. Compile information into graphs and documents. Report results to customer and SL management. 
  •  Organizing and storing samples in accordance with requirements to warrant the integrity of the samples. 
  •  Maintaining equipment records and daily work logs. Cleaning and maintaining lab equipment, including recalibration of equipment.
  •  Maintaining and keeping ample test medium and consumable inventory for testing.

 #2 Satisloh NA Internal Quality Support Functions

  • Support SLNA Quality Issue reporting and analysis in C4C in conjunction with regional and global requirements and demands. Assist in creating and mining quality KPI reports and dashboards. 
  • Assists and support the Returns Logistics team with warranty / failure parts handling and analysis.

Expectations / Requirements

  • Efficient, detail oriented, candidates with good communication skills are preferred. 
  • To perform a variety of testing and standardized methods, attention to detail and process consistency are critical. 
  • Must be able to work both independently and with others. 
  • Occasional travel to customers may be required.

Qualifications:

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.   Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate current draw, power consumption and heat load (metric and Imperial) using various formulas for different conditions.  Recognize and understand linear, exponential and logarithmic actions of electrical, thermal, and mechanical systems.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Electrical and Mechanical Ability:

Solid knowledge and ability to use multimeters, oscilloscopes, power meters for electrical investigations, and dial indicators, calipers, micrometers, and force gauges for mechanical investigations. 

Computer Skills and Knowledge:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word; Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Internet Explorer; SAP; NGERP; Microsoft Access; Microsoft Outlook; DOS and Windows Operating Systems.

Education/Experience:

A Four-year degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Science is preferred.  Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Science.  Four to six years related experience and/or formal training may be considered.

Certificates and Licenses:

ABOC certification preferred
