Title of Role: Quality Sampling Technician

East West Tea is seeking a talented and passionate, Quality Sampling Technician to join our Raw Materials Quality team! 

The Quality Sampling Technician is responsible for sample gathering and preparation of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished goods, including herbal extracts, herbs, essential oils and dietary supplements.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN:  

• Performs physical inspection of raw material pallets before sampling
• Conducts sampling of raw materials, intermediate blends, and finished goods
• Coordinates distribution of samples for internal and external laboratory testing
• Using established SOPs, perform routine particle size, bulk density, moisture analysis, water activity, pH, and spectrophotometry of botanicals in solutions
• Comply with all pertinent regulatory standards regarding equipment and sampling procedures
• Manage and maintain Raw Receipt sampling log
• Sampling of raw materials at or near expiration date and provide disposition based on findings

WHAT YOU KNOW AND HAVE EXPERIENCED: 

• 1 year of experience in a quality laboratory role
• Proficient with HPTLC and ICP-MS and/or transferable analytical experience
• Experience with standard microbiological test methods in food safety preferred
• Experience with National Organic Program, Dietary Supplements, and GFSI standards preferred
• Laboratory methods development
