Position Overview:

This position is responsible for investigating quality issues in design and manufacturing, helping track relevant metrics for development and execution of quality assurance, and leading quality and process improvements. This position also has responsibility for ensuring that reliability efforts continue within the New Product Development group. Finally, an additional core part of this position is to provide technical support and coordination for post-delivery quality and reliability issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the Quality and Reliability Engineering work at TOG Daytona Beach.

  • Support maintaining of metrics relating to the quality and reliability programs at Daytona Beach.

  • Support the continued development of relationships with key customer quality representatives to fully understand customers’ quality requirements.

  • Support key customers with creation of concession requests, when required.

  • Investigate quality problems and recommend corrective actions.

  • Utilize continuous improvement methodologies to drive product/system improvements.

  • Assist in tracking of Price of Nonconformance costs – identifying opportunities and addressing root cause of drivers.

  • Receive, document, analyze, and disseminate NCR’s for further actions by company staff.

  • This requires the ability to read drawings, schematics, system arrangements, and test protocols.

  • Maintain written and verbal communication with customers and company management on status of NCR’s.

  • Includes weekly conference calls with key customers.

  • Generate Internal Corrective Actions as required.

  • Support coordination of and work on Root Cause Analysis efforts on design or process related issues.

  • Work with other departments as required to effectively identify and mitigate root causes.

  • Work with product line SMEs and other technical experts to resolve technical issues on TOG products.

  • Ensure regular updates are provided to manager on the status of investigations.

  • Perform reliability assessments and develop reliability metrics of existing TOG products.

  • Assist in deployment of reliability tools, i.e. FMECA, RBDA, FTA, and Reliability Testing.

  • Work with technical and other teams to support TOG quality and reliability goals.

  • Ensures that all quality and reliability tasks are completed in a timely manner and at a high level of quality.

  • Perform other duties as directed by manager.

Education and Experience:

  • BSME or equivalent experience.

  • Work in a related occupation as an engineering professional preferred.

  • Experience working on Root Cause Analysis preferred.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience in subsea engineering preferred.

  • Experience with subsea electrical and fiber optic systems preferred.

  • Experience in customer relations with respect to field issue resolution strongly preferred.

  • Experience with Root Causes Analysis strongly preferred.

  • Ability to develop and analyze reliability models, calculate FITs, utilize Arrhenius curves preferred.

  • Working knowledge of MSOffice programs (Word, Project, Outlook, Excel, etc.)

  • Knowledge of Reliability Tools (RBDA, FMECA, Reliability Testing)

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in fast paced environment

  • Knowledge of Quality tools including 6 Sigma, DOE, SPC strongly preferred
