This individual is a key member of the Quality Assurance team. This individual will also interface with Supply Chain, Engineering and Production teams.
Ensure materials and products received from suppliers conform to all product and material specifications.
- Inspects incoming purchased parts, assemblies, accessories, and materials for conformance to specifications using precision measuring devices and instruments. Parts are primarily painted components or complete assemblies.
- Ensure materials and products received from suppliers conform to all product and material specifications.
- Performs first article inspections on lots received as directed by the Quality Manager.
- Maintains inspection equipment and ensures calibration is up to date
- Identifies nonconforming product and ensures it is quarantined.
- Assists with management of NCRs that are slated to be Returned to Vendor (RTV).
- Moves items to designated location once released to production. May require some lifting – up to 50 pounds
- Additional quality job duties as assigned.
- Inspects incoming materials for conformance to specifications.
- Development of improved quality systems related to incoming inspections.
- Accuracy in record keeping for items received and inspected.
- Accuracy in record keeping for products to be returned to vendor.
Requirements
- Required - Intermediate level computer skills including Microsoft Office Based Programs.
- Required - Capable of operating a powered hand truck and/or pallet jack.
- Required – Ability to read blueprints and understands measurements and tolerances.
- 6 months experience in quality management systems (inspections) including use of measurement tools.
- 6 months or more experience in receiving, warehouse, packing or production.
- Experience with or knowledge of metal and fabricated components.
- Solid computer (data entry, typing) skills.
- Skilled in using calibrated measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, microphotometers).
- Familiarity with computer aided measurement tools such as a CMM.
- Willingness to cross train and inspect in all aspects of Quality.
- Time management skills.
- Detail oriented.
Education:
- Minimum high school graduate or equivalent previous work experience per requirements listed.
Work Environment:
- Non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment
- Some lifting up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for 10 hours per day
Hours:
- 6:00 am - 4:30 pm (Monday-Thursday) some overtime on Friday's
